"Linking Communication Measurements to Business Goals" with Angela Sinickas

This session will help you get beyond communicating just for awareness or understanding of broad organizational messages, to communicating more specifically and concretely to deliver business results by measurably influencing your audience’s behaviors.

This workshop covers:

  • Selecting which organizational goals are most likely to be affected by communication strategies.

  • Determining which stakeholder groups are most important in helping to achieve a particular goal.

  • Identifying the ideal behaviors for each stakeholder group to reach the goal.

  • Discovering through informal research which knowledge and attitude messages are contributing to the current (incorrect) behaviors and which messages would better motivate the ideal behaviors.

  • Choosing the best channels for the ideal knowledge and attitude messages.

  • Setting measurable objectives for the messages and channels.

  • Using three different techniques to connect your communications with achievement of the ideal behaviors and organizational goals in terms of a return on investment: pilot/control groups, timing correlations and survey questions.

Angela Sinickas, ABC, IABC Fellow, is CEO of Sinickas Communications, Inc. (www.sinicom.com), an international consulting firm that has worked with 35% of the Fortune largest 100 global companies. "Pivoting" with Kristin Dickerson

Three years after leaving Tulsa to grow her career as a news anchor in Dallas, Kristin Dickerson felt called to leave everything she had worked toward. She and her husband, Peter, sold their home, gave away most of their belongings and embarked on a three-month pilgrimage in 2019. Together, they walked the Camino de Santiago across Spain, worshipped in Israel, then spent six weeks in India visiting some of the country’s holiest places.

Upon their return to the US, Dickerson was given an opportunity to help launch a new television show in Texas, which she continues to do today.

During this session, she will share a heart-felt and faith-forward look inside the key “pivots” in her life that led to substantial personal growth.

Through a series of personal stories and videos, you too, might see the significant pivots in your own life, appreciate the struggles, the results, and gain the courage to face whatever is coming next.

There will be time for Q&A and no question is off limits!

About Kristin Dickerson

Kristin Dickerson is the host of the top-rated lifestyle television show in Dallas-Fort Worth, “Texas Today.” She spent 12 years in Tulsa as a news anchor and reporter for KTUL Tulsa’s Channel 8. During her 16 years in television, her work has been recognized with a National Edward R. Murrow Award, three National Gracie Awards and eight Regional Emmy Awards. She’s also served as a guest faculty member for the National Press Photographers Association.

"Unleash the Power of Storytelling: Win Hearts, Change Minds, Get Results" with Rob Biesenbach

As communicators and marketers, we know storytelling is one of our most powerful tools for breaking down walls, building trust and influencing people to act. The right story can help us make a connection, strengthen a relationship, align and rally a team, sway a skeptic, close a sale, and position ourselves and others for success.

Yet when creating stories for our organizations, brands and clients we tend to become our own worst enemies, letting complexity, intimidation and fear get in the way. In this engaging, information-packed session, storytelling expert Rob Biesenbach diagnoses the biggest mistakes corporate storytellers make and prescribes simple remedies that will allow your stories to flourish and not flail.

You’ll come away with practical strategies and tactics you can use to become a more powerful, persuasive storyteller and get the results you want.
